Papers
The Call for
Papers is now officially open. We
kindly invite you to submit papers related to one of the following
topics:
- Pedagogy
and assessment of the use of visual
media in learning and teaching; theories and conceptual frameworks;
- Visual
technologies for learning and
teaching; tools for creating and manipulating visual resources.
Innovative technology to produce, manage and distribute media.
Including videoconferencing and shared virtual reality.
- Projects
and case studies, both innovative
use and widespread practice; best practice. Reports on research
projects in this domain. Studies on the use of visual media.
- People and
technology: the social
implications of the use of visual media in education. Novel or creative
uses of visual technologies in learning and teaching; video and the
arts.

Submission
Guidelines
- Abstracts must be
submitted by April 12 2010.
- Abstracts
should be no longer than 250 words;
- All
abstracts will be peer reviewed prior to
acceptance after which you will be notified whether your abstract has
been accepted or not;
- Accepted
papers will be invited to extend
their abstact into a full paper, considered for publication in the
conference proceedings which will be published Spring 2011;
- If you are
unfamiliar with the themes, levels
of technicality or academic register of DIVERSE, please review some of
the abstracts for previous DIVERSE Conferences in Haarlem
and
Aberystwyth.

The
conference dinner on July 7th will be a
traditional Maine Lobster bake for $25.00 per person (accompanying
partners welcome at the conference dinner)
There will be a limited block of single en-suite accommodation on the
USM Gorham Campus – first come basis (shuttle to the Portland
Campus included). Rooms at hotels close to the Portland Campus will
also be blocked on a first come basis.

Masterclasses
We are offering delegates the opportunity to register for optional
Masterclasses, which will take place on Wednesday July 7th. There will
be two Masterclasses facilitated by experts in practical use of media
technologies for educational purposes. They will be providing a
hands-on approach to working with technologies.
